Summary

This bill will raise the minimum wage from $5.15 an hour to $7.25 an hour over two years and two months.

Background

The federal minimum wage of $5.15 an hour has not been raised since 1997. Raising the minimum wage has been listed as a priority for the first "100 Hours" of the legislative session by the democratic house leadership.

This bill is a companion to S.2(110).
